Mission
We advocate for a more equitable UK dance ecology through research, events and publications. We also apply lessons from dance research to wider social issues.
Established arts funding systems, and institutional and academic systems of knowledge production replicate neoliberal market conditions that set dance artists, researchers, and arts producers in competition with one another and perpetuate siloed modes of working. We draw on the concept of the pluriverse, a world of many worlds, to move beyond universality and incorporate a wild co-existant ecology of practice.

Prof. Victoria Hunter
Principal Investigator, Senior Research Fellow
A transdisciplinary practitioner-researcher focused on site dance practice and theory, embodied research methods and post human feminism, eco-somatic awareness, environmental choreography, practice-research methods, dance and new materialisms.
Michelle Elliott
Co-investigator
Senior Research Fellow specialising in creative movement practices and their potential to enhance creative thinking and interdisciplinary enquiry.

Dance and performance scholar with a specialist interest in the intersections of the aesthetic and the political in interdisciplinary movement practices and experimental dramaturgical processes.

Artist, PhD researcher
Interdisciplinary artist and researcher working at the intersection of dance and political economy, across writing, research, teaching and performance, with a focus on expanding economic imaginaries around value.

What’s the difference between Notes and Publications?
Notes are network updates, usually offering news and upcoming ways to participate. Publications are our formal research outputs.
Can I access information about past events ?
Often, yes. All our public events are listed on the Events page, and include video of the online events and programmes, two videos from our in-person Choreographing the Pluriverse events in April 2024, and a PDF with the programme and opening talks from the network team, from our February 2025 in-person event.
